What to establish before troubleshooting
PowerFlex 750-Series behavior depends on the exact drive, firmware, option ports, motor-control mode, start source, reference owner, feedback device, and application limits; a copied parameter file is not proof of a safe match.
Preserve the fault and parameter state, validate installation and motor data, then separate command ownership, reference, feedback, load, power, thermal, network, and option-module boundaries.
Abbreviated worked example
Example: PowerFlex 755 is ready but will not start
A commissioned drive shows no active fault and accepts network communication, but a controller run command does not produce output frequency.
- 1Capture start inhibits, active command owner, active reference owner, logic status, and safety state.
- 2Trace the selected control source and permissive chain before changing parameters.
Result: The missing-start boundary is proven without defaulting the drive or bypassing a permissive.
Caution: Drive output terminals and DC bus remain hazardous; follow the exact installation manual and site electrical-safety procedure before testing.
