Modbus Register and REAL Workbench

Decode a register pair as REAL, DINT or DWORD with explicit byte order and zero-based addressing; review batch maps.

Worked example

Registers 0x3F80 and 0x0000 in ABCD order represent REAL 1.0 and unsigned integer 1065353216. A holding-register reference 40001 conventionally maps to protocol offset 0; confirm the device map.

ABCD means A high byte, A low byte, B high byte, B low byte. CDAB swaps words; BADC swaps bytes within words; DCBA swaps both. Modbus defines 16-bit registers; the device determines how multi-register data is represented.
